About Us

My name is Rea and for 9 years I had been a stay-at-home mom. I knew I wanted to get back to work when my boys were old enough, but it had to be something that I could do on my own terms so I could still be really present for my kids.Opening a retail store was a logical choice as my work background is in retail management, specifically the children's side, so having a children's store seemed the best way to go.

There were several things that were important to me to have in the store.  And I'm not talking about actual product, but more what our vision was for the experience of being a customer.  We didn't want to be a "hard sell" type of store, but rather we want to be looked upon as a good place to go for new parents to help figure out what exactly their needs are and what is available on their budget.  

I knew I definitely wanted to have a car seat technician on staff (feel free to send me a note if you have specific car seat safety inquiries) as car seat safety is of the highest importance, and I wanted to be able to provide the local community (we're located in a village on the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia, about an hour from Halifax) the type of quality products and services that are normally only found in the city.

We focus as much as we can on locally made, Canadian made, environmentally responsible and quality products. Customer service is of the highest importance as well as creating a fun, positive, relaxing atmosphere for folks to come and spend time with us.

With this new website, we're trying to create, as much as possible, the experience of shopping with us in our actual retail store. We've tried to add some personal touches and feedback about the products that we carry and create more of a real interaction rather than just the cold, hard facts and specifications about the products.

Go As You Grow is located at 8927 Commercial Street, across from the movie theater in New Minas, if you are local and coming by the store, feel free to come in and check us out. We provide a very Dad friendly change station and full nursing room for anyone who may need to use our facilities!
